Physically, I am ready to meet him...my ankles are starting to swell, I have put on major weight in the last few weeks and every time little bud moves it feels like he is playing with knives. However, mentally it is a whole different ball game. The flu is HORRIBLE around here and last week they put restrictions on at the hospital only allowing immediate family over the age of 15 to visit. So, that means that Kolten will not be able to come to the hospital to meet his baby brother.
When I first heard the news, I immediately started crying...I was so upset. I had this vision in my head of how the first meeting would go. I would be waiting in the room with Beckham and the "Big Brother" gift that we have for Kolten (yes, this is already assembled and put in a handmade big brother bag) and Bryce would bring Kolten in to meet his baby brother for the first time. It would be our first time together as a family of four. (tears)
I have gotten over the "dream meeting" However, I still am super anxious about not seeing Kolten for over three days. I am already scared to death something will happen and he will lose his mommy (yes I am crazy), and now I won't be able to see him after it is over. I try to think of the positives...It will give us one on one time with Beckham, Kolten won't have to see me in the hospital and think something is wrong, he will be spoiled rotten by grandparents, we can still make a big deal of the first meeting at home, etc...but to be honest, it still upsets me to think about it. He is such a mommy's boy and he HATES change. Let's be serious, I hate change too.
On top of this MAJOR change in Kolten's life, he was just moved up a class at daycare. He was finally super content in his last class and I had nothing to worry about because he LOVED going and playing with his "fiends." Not anymore, back to hearing him scream while walking out the door..."MY MOMMYYYY" I thought he would be in this class till May, but I guess two kids left the center and two babies needed in so he was the next in line to move up. I know daycare is good for Kolten, but these are the days that I question my decsion to work at all. He will adjust, I know he will. I am just being a worried mommy. Prayers would be appreciated for an easy adjustment for us all!
